Today we’re diving into Hogwarts Legacy — a magical open-world adventure where you decide your wizard path, master spells, and explore every hidden corner of the Wizarding World.

The Story (spoiler-light)



You play as a fifth-year student with a mysterious connection to ancient magic — something most wizards can’t even sense. While learning the ropes at Hogwarts, you’re pulled into a conflict with dark wizards and dangerous magical creatures.


  • Main plot: uncover secrets of ancient magic and stop a dark rebellion.
  • Side stories: build friendships, go on personal quests for classmates, and explore hidden wizard lore.
  • Your choices in dialogue and actions affect relationships — and sometimes the outcome.






House Choice



At the start, the Sorting Hat lets you pick your Hogwarts house.


  • Gryffindor: bold and adventurous.
  • Slytherin: ambitious and cunning.
  • Ravenclaw: wise and curious.
  • Hufflepuff: loyal and hardworking.



Your house changes your common room, some early quests, and the NPCs you hang around with — but you can still explore all of Hogwarts no matter what.


Magic Gameplay & Spells



This is where the game shines.


  • Basic attacks: quick wand strikes to keep enemies on their toes.
  • Control spells: Levioso to lift, Accio to pull, Glacius to freeze.
  • Damage spells: Expelliarmus, Bombarda, and Confringo for big hits.
  • Utility magic: Lumos for light, Reparo to fix objects, Alohomora for locks.
  • Unforgivable Curses: yep… you can learn them if you choose that path.



Combat feels like a mix of dueling and strategy — juggling enemies, countering attacks, and chaining spells into crazy combos.





Exploration



Hogwarts is huge and fully explorable — from the moving staircases to the kitchens. Step outside and you’ve got:


  • Hogsmeade: shopping, side quests, and Butterbeer.
  • The Highlands: forests, ruins, caves, and beast dens.
  • Flying: broomsticks for speed, hippogriffs and thestrals for style.



Secrets are everywhere — hidden doors, puzzle rooms, and collectables that reward exploration.


No Loading Times (PS5 version)



The PS5’s SSD means fast travel is instant, and moving between massive indoor and outdoor areas feels seamless. Even loading the entire castle after fast travel happens in seconds — just enough time to say “Merlin’s beard!”
